Elnaz Sheshgelani

I am a storyteller. To me, drama lives in the consciousness that a story creates. In dramatic storytelling, “Naghali”, my goal is to embody the dramatic aspects of the story. I work with words to connect me to images, and then bring the images to life through my body. My intention is to take prose and transform it into a story that I then dramatise for an audience. To this end, I takethe fundamental characters of Persian poetry combined with images, symbols, metaphorical situations and psychological/spiritual states of mind. This is a pedagogical approach that, in its process of making and performing, also teaches us about the content.
